History
In 1985, The Wadsworth family of Sandusky, MI purchased its first John Deere Dealership in Sandusky, Michigan. News had come that the local dealership would be closing, which meant the convenience of having a John Deere equipment dealer close to home would be lost, as well as cause a strain on the neighboring farms and surrounding communities. In 1988, the Marlette location was added to better serve a growing customer base in the Lapeer, Tuscola, St. Clair, and the Northern Detroit Area. 2007 brought huge growth for our company when we purchased the locations in Caro, Burton, and Bad Axe. In 2008, Tri County Equipment welcomed the Lapeer location. In the fall of 2010, we purchased the John Deere dealerships in Reese, Birch Run, and Saginaw. This helped ensure the farmers in the Saginaw Valley area would be better served with a wider selection of parts and equipment. In January of 2019 we purchased Mid State Equipment in Fenton, MI. Throughout the years, we have grown and currently have eleven locations serving Eastern and Mid-Michigan. Even though we continue to grow and change our business, you can still count on some things that will never change - our commitment, service, and support of our customers. While our roots are in agriculture, we have also expanded our family of customers to include homeowners, large-property owners, landscapers, commercial-lawn care companies, golf courses, schools and municipalities. We are proud to be able to include all these different types of customers as part of our family.
In addition to being one of the United States’ top dealers for John Deere Parts sales, Tri County Equipment is Eastern Michigan’s John Deere Sprayer Service Center, as well as your best choice for Guidance System installation and repair technicians in Michigan. Tri County Equipment operates and maintains a vast RTK network covering the Thumb and Mid Michigan area.
