Service Technician (Big Equipment • Big Impact • Fix It Fast & Fix It Right!)

We're looking for hands-on problem solvers who can diagnose issues, repair equipment, and keep our customers’ operations moving. When a machine is down, it’s urgent — and you’re the expert they count on to get it fixed right the first time.
What You’ll Do
- Tackle On-Site & In-Shop Repairs: Diagnose, repair, and maintain agricultural equipment, skid steers, and turf machines — independently and confidently.
- Document Everything: Record repair notes, diagnostics, and maintenance details directly on the work order.
- Stay Sharp with Training: Participate in required service training to stay on top of new tools, tech, and equipment.
- Support Customers Directly: Assist with customer clinics and possibly promote service programs when appropriate.
- Keep Up With Product Knowledge: Stay current on John Deere equipment and competitor brands.
- Maintain Your Tools & Rig: Keep service trucks, trailers, tools, and inventory clean and ready to go.
- Follow Safety Best Practices: Work smart, follow safety rules, and use proper procedures.
- Accurately Track Time & Materials: Make sure all your work is fully accounted for and documented.
- Bring the Urgency: When a customer’s machine is down, you know it’s go-time — and you act fast.
What You Bring
- Experience: 1+ years repairing equipment — small engines, diesel, heavy equipment, powersports, ag equipment, lawn & garden, etc.
- Technical Know-How: Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnostic Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair using Service Advisor and other diagnostic tools.
- Computer Skills: Comfortable using basic computer programs and service software.
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate tractors, skid steers, and other equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- Great Communication: Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical Ability: Capable of lifting 75 lbs repeatedly.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Service Technician certification preferred.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license required; forklift license preferred.
